Windows Phone Blog Announces Plans to Expand Traffic Data Option in New Cities

Scott Borton, a Senior PM in the Windows Phone Map App space, gives a quick introduction to the traffic option and highlights a few of the team’s latest upgrades in a recent blog post: Beep! Beep! Better traffic coverage on the way.

If you haven’t tried checking the latest traffic conditions on your phone yet, open Maps, expand the menu, and tap Show Traffic.

  • Bing Maps will be NOT in Windows Phone 8 , so , what is the future of that ?

  • More details for Windows Phone 8 features will be shared in the coming weeks but in the meantime, you can enjoy this feature on your Windows Phone 7 device.

  • It should be noted that it was also announced that applications in Windows Phone 7 would also work in Windows Phone 8. That said, if Bing Maps works in Windows Phone 7 (which we know it does using the Bing Maps Silverlight control), then there is no reason why it won't work in Windows Phone 8.

  • Awesome updates.
