As the internet continues to evolve, we find there are more new “signals” coming in to search that enable us to provide customers with more relevant, real time and connected results. Our work with Twitter and Facebook over the last year or so has helped us create what is in effect a “social layer” for search that brings social information into the search experience in real time. This is an important investment for us at Bing. Today we’d like to share some more progress in this area, specifically a new feature we call People Recommendation.
With Twitter growing to more than 145 million accounts, finding interesting people to follow can be difficult. People Recommendation on Bing Social helps you discover interesting and relevant Twitter users based on your searches. Whether someone is “Influential” and helping shape the conversation or “Popular” like a celebrity, the new Twitter User Recommendation feature helps to identify Twitterers related to your query.
For example, if you search for “Windows Phone” (did we mention how excited we are for the new Windows Phone 7?) you will see Bing Social recommend some influential folks, helping you connect more deeply to the issues you care about by using this social layer of search to inform your results and give you the information you need.
If you search for the blockbuster film “Machete”, we return Machete stars Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, as well as the official Machete Twitter account.
We hope this feature will help you discover many interesting and new Twitterers. We’ve got more exciting innovation coming in Bing’s social layer, so stay tuned and have some fun.

Very nice, however, can I make a suggestion? The trending topics at the moment include "home from school", "prime rib" and "within this topic" includes Jennifer Aniston.
If you knew anything about me (which you do - you know a lot because I am logged in - such as I'm a 30-something music-loving, male, living in England) then you'd show me trending topics that are relevant to me - none of which would include the things I just listed.
In other words - personalised trending topics please.

If you search for something on Google, it comes up with results within the tweets of the people you follow too.
Is Bing going to have local listings, like Google?
I am very impressed with Bing's bringing together Yahoo and Microsoft search engines to compete with Google. Best of luck with that.

Google took a tweet I put on twitter and used it as my sites META description! I was like WTF?
Im still happy of using this add, Since Im working in Internet I got successfull.
