The Search is on for Halloween Costumes

Did October sneak up on you as fast as it did me? All I know is once the calendar reads October the Halloween preparations begin. Before anything else- before I dust off my box of Halloween decorations, before I figure out what all my friends plans are for that night- I head online to decide what to dress up like and more importantly to decide what to dress my kids in. OK, maybe not more importantly as one would suspect. Our data shows that the term “sexy Halloween costumes” is searched for twice as many times as that of “toddler or baby costume .” So even though we tend to make this Halloween about them it is really about us. The costume craze is even more reinforced to us knowing that people are searching for their costumes 80% more than they are searching for ways to deck out their homes in that fake cemetery or witches den motif. OK, so now what is trending in the popular Halloween costumes for 2010 . It looks like pop culture has a lot to do with who we will see this year on the neighborhood sidewalks and at all the parties in town. Of course Lady Gaga is topping the list… the question is which look of hers will you be? Did you enjoy Tim Burton’s... Read More Did October sneak up on you as fast as it did me? Windows Live Photo Contest and Bing

Bing photo contests have been something that we have had in the past to showcase the photo talent of our Bing enthusiasts on the Bing Homepage . We are now excited to be partnering up with the Windows Live team on a photo contest of their own. Last week they announced the release of the new Windows Live Essentials 2011 which includes Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Writer, Mesh and Family Safety. They are celebrating this release with a photo contest highlighting Windows Live Photo Gallery. The Windows Live team is looking for photos of clouds that illustrate and show how Windows Live connects your PC to the cloud. The winner’s photo will be featured on the homepage of Bing on November 8, 2010. There will also be 10 other photos selected to have their photo featured in a Windows 7 Theme Pack to be featured in the Personalization Gallery . For more on how to enter and to get all of the contest details and information make sure you read the Windows Experience blog. Good Luck!! RE:FORM SCHOOL – REDU x Creative Community...

In the past month since REDU launched, we have seen the call for education reinvention thrust into the middle of a national conversation. The numbers are staggering – a third of our students never graduate, US ranks 18 th out of 21 countries in math and science, over 1 million veteran teachers are set to retire. So, whether it’s Waiting for Superman , the Education Nation summit, or just over the news, the topic of improving educational outcomes in the US is top of mind for many, and we at REDU are hard at work trying to find the best stories to inspire, smartest ways to connect, and the most useful resources for action. In our continued effort to move the conversation along by engaging people on the topic, today, we’re excited to announce the latest REDU project called RE:FORM SCHOOL in NYC (10/9-11). RE:FORM SCHOOL is a high profile, pop-up art exhibition, event series, and public awareness campaign designed to bring together and engage the creative community in the drive to change the American public education system. Yosi Sargent, the driving force behind the effort and a REDU partner, talks about initiative as well as the correlation between arts and academics... Bing Comes to Firefox

Today Bing and Firefox announced that Bing will be included as one of the search engine choices within Firefox on both the Mac and PC. We’re very excited to be included in the search engine choices in the upcoming version of Firefox. Having Bing in the “out of the box” list makes it easier than ever for the Firefox community to experience the benefits of Bing. We expect the Bing option to show up in an upcoming build of Firefox 4. We hope you enjoy this new choice for your Firefox experience and we look forward to hearing your feedback on how we can continue to improve.
