A new way to earn with Bing Rewards

Since launching Bing Rewards in September, the Bing Bar has been the main way for members to learn about new offers to earn credits, track their credit balance and redeem their credits for Rewards. We’ve received lots of feedback about the Bing Rewards experience and how to continue to improve it. One of the most frequent suggestions has been to make it available to more users on other browsers and platforms. Building on that input, starting today we’re pleased to share that we’ve integrated Bing Rewards into the Bing header for easy and quick access to earning credits and redeeming rewards. Bing Rewards is now available to users on Internet Explorer 7 or later and the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers. By expanding the ways to participate in Bing Rewards new members are no longer limited to using IE and the Bing Bar. Existing members can now sign in to Bing to continue earning credits when they are on a computer without the Bing Bar installed. With Bing Rewards, members are exposed to all the great features Bing has to offer while earning credits that are redeemable for rewards. Offers notify members about free ways to earn credits,... Can’t keep up with local deals? Try Bing...

While the economy appears to be looking up, people are still looking for new ways to save money and find the best deals. According to a recent Bing/Impulse Survey, nearly 50 percent of adults say they use more coupons today than they did a year ago. While we’re enjoying the savings, the number of deals out there can be overwhelming. Respondents to the survey cited a 47 percent surge in the use of local deals with companies like Living Social and Groupon. Coupons and deals offering discounts on local products and services are going gangbusters, with retailers and service providers now collectively offering hundreds of thousands of deals daily. In fact, 74 percent of survey respondents admitted they search multiple coupon sources each week, and a quarter of respondents claimed to spend up to an hour sifting through possible deals. With many of us the verge of a possible “deals” overload, Bing’s mobile deals make it much easier to make local deal decisions, helping you save time and money. Microsoft's Imagine Cup, Check Out What...

Imagine a room full of U.S. students (16 and up) with projects they created to solve the world’s toughest problems. They’re from all over the country. Picture yourself chatting with the students from the University of Arkansas, Team Uca Ursus, about their automated system to track the speed of a skin lesion's progression to better diagnose and treat skin cancer. You then meet team LifeCode from Wayne State University, in Detroit and see how their project, Procūr uses Bing Maps and intelligently manages the humanitarian supply chain of the future – specifically, that during a disaster situation, it connects a broad number of people with information and creates a platform for conducting relief efforts. You might even then turn around and get drawn into playing the game from the University of Houston’s Team AAMP - “Operation Clean Sweep” - that allows you to use a mobile phone to clean up rivers polluted by adjacent cities. In fact, everywhere you turn, there are solutions addressing issues affecting education, the environment, health and more. In April, 2011, this will not just be something to imagine.
