A competition to name the “New 7 Wonders of Nature” puts the voting in your hands.
Organizers of the competition have narrowed down the choices to 28 finalists, after considering 77 sites (from an original list of more than 250 candidates) that received the most votes in a global poll. The voting continues online, and the winners of the three-year contest are expected to be announced in 2011.
We’ve assembled a new photo gallery on Bing Travel where you can get a glimpse at the finalists and learn more about each location. Many of the sites are recognizable, such as the Grand Canyon and the Galápagos Islands. Others are less well-known, such as Jeju Island in South Korea (with its haunting lava tubes) and the Mud Volcanoes in Azerbaijan.
Certainly, many wondrous places (including Mt. Everest) did not make the final cut. Which sites do you think should have made the list, and which ones would you choose as your seven winners? Have you visited any of the 28 finalists in your travels? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments section.
I have only visited Mount Kilimanjaro, the Grand Canyon, the Great Barrier Reef, the Amazon rain forest.
It's strange that Mount Everest didn't make it. Maybe because people see it everyday on TVs, online, photos, etc, and hence are getting tired of it.
I will vote for my favourite :)
Vote for Sundarbans at http://new7wonders.com/, world's largest mangrove forest where you can find Royal Bengal tigers, deers, wild *** and more than 100 animals
I think Mt. Everest(8,848M)should have made the list in “New 7 Wonders of Nature”It's taken millions of years and unimaginably powerful forces to create this mountain range; the Himalayas are literally what happen when continents collide. It's even so vast that it's changed our global climate system - and nowhere is it more spectacular than the Everest region.
My vote is Yellowstone National Park. What natural wonder could potientally change the face of earth. Yellowstone being a supervolcano could.
My vote for Sundarbans - mainly for its Royal Bengal Tigers
my vote is the boiling lake in Dominica West indies
I would vote for Sundarbans
Mi VOTO es para
<< EL AMAZONAS >>.......
