Fliers Have Voted … and the Winners Are In

The Airline Passenger Experience winners are in.

The Best Overall Passenger Experience award went to Emirates and Virgin America — there are two categories based on the number of planes equipped with in-flight entertainment (IFE).

The Passenger Choice awards originated with the Airline Passenger Experience Association. To prevent commercial influences, the Nielsen Co. tracks voting by the traveling public. The awards were designed to recognize airlines for service, products and innovations.

The winners:

Best Overall Passenger Experience (More than 50 IFE-equipped planes in fleet): Emirates

(Up to 50 equipped in fleet): Virgin America

Best in Region: Africa, South African Airways; Americas, Virgin America; Asia and Australasia, V Australia; Europe, Virgin Atlantic; Middle East, Emirates

Best In-Flight Publication: Avianca

Best IFE User Interface: V Australia

Best In-Flight Connectivity and Communications: Oman Air

Best In-Flight Video: Virgin America

Best Cabin Ambience: JetBlue

Best Food and Beverage: V Australia

Best Ground Experience: Virgin America
