into the news, trends, people and technology behind Bing.
Excitement is growing at Bing HQ! We’ve been hard at work building a new version of Bing Maps for the UK, and are now ready to share the experience with Multimap users. On Wednesday 27th October we will host our first ever informal panel and Q&A session with a range of industry specialists and mapping experts. The event will give us the opportunity to showcase the latest innovations from Bing Maps UK and to highlight the leading digital partners we have been working with to deliver improved map services - as well as providing the chance for the UK mapping community to network and debate mapping innovations.
The mapping specialist panel will be comprised of Jeff Kelisky, General Manager of Mapping and Local for Microsoft, who will discuss the latest in mapping technologies. Other panellists include:- Brian Norman – Technical Director, Earthware, one of the world’s leading experts in interactive web based mapping solutions - Rod Plummer – Managing Director at Shoothill, a leading Microsoft software developer specialising in creating bespoke software solutions for clients, using MS platforms including Bing Maps - Ben Morris, Head of technology at Fortune Cookie, a company specialising in creating outstanding digital experiences, for clients including a recent project with Microsoft to deliver a compelling and innovative solution for Europcar. Drinks and refreshments will be served. What Bing has done to OS mapping is unforgivable. Poor quality imaging, no searching or selecting of GB OS grid references make these useless in comparison with multimap which was par excellence in this regard.
