This is a place devoted to giving you deeper insight
into the news, trends, people and technology behind Bing.
I currently write for http://diyfashion.about.com, so when a new search engine system pops up, I'm very interested in doing what I can to rank well.
I've read the following tips on ranking high in Bing, but was just wondering if anyone had a few more suggestions or success stories this early in the game? Also, how does optimizing SEO for Bing clash with optimizing for Google?
From Hubpages.com :
Bing's FAQs state that you should do the following on-site seo to rank well in their search engine:
· Target no more than two keywords per page
· Use unique <title> tags on each page
· Use unique <meta> description tags on each page
· Use H1 tags
· Use text navigation links
· Create content for your human visitors, not the Bing web crawler
· Incorporate keywords into URL strings
Nice tips, but I think these are some common SE tips which we are also using for Google and Yahoo... Is there any special and unique method to get well ranked in bing.
Standard SEO guidelines still apply.
I agree with Brett Yount and Webguru
Of course, but are they not weighted less than the URL/File name itself? Seems like that would be an important part to mention in my opinion.
"Create content for your human visitors, not the Bing web crawler"
And by the way it's called Bong now, not Bing. Cuz it gives results like it took a massive bong rip.
Thanks for SEO 101, prolly answered some of the most commonly asked queries in these forums. However most of this info is almost totally irrelevant to Bong. File names and URLs are most important, so have fun restructuring your entire site. :(
wow..thanks for sharing...
very help me...
It seems Bing focuses more heavily on links with relevant anchor text, so that should influence your linking strategy - get your text anchor text right and also is weighting more heavily towards on-page optimization
Why does my site have pages rank high in Google but not in Bing? I mean, if standard SEO guidelines apply, there shouldn't be a vast difference in the search result outcome, right?
I haven't found anything that clashes in any of the information. As for the different results the algorythym can still be different working with the same features.
I Satisfied with Brett Yount............................................................
These tips are equally important for google and yahoo. Also only on page optimization won't work .Link building is also necessary for a site to rank well in any search engine.
Yes, thanks. These tips do apply for bing. Having unique titles, meta descripts and keywords are necessary for ranking in search engines like bing.
More or less, it's still content and links.
I would agree totally on content over links any day. and we are ranking 5 on bing.
We were shut down for about two months due to medical reasons and just re-opened last week. So even though fresh content is important.... quantity and relevance are more so in our opinion with this algorithm. We use to hold an 8 ranking with Google, that has died to a 3-4. Keywords... and keep site maps updated... and lots of content. You won't go wrong.
