This is a place devoted to giving you deeper insight
into the news, trends, people and technology behind Bing.
I'd like to use bing, but until search-by-date is available , I'm just getting links that I've already visited. We need the ability to search "last 24 hours", "last week", "last month", etc. or even better a date picker.
Please don't suggest that I include criteria like '2009' and 'December'. We would not model a database with varchar fields for dates, and we shouldn't expect users to settle for this in searches.
I will continue to check on bing every couple months. When this is implemented I'll have a new home page.

He probably still wants it even though he's gone away. I, personally just want to get recent results instead of ones from 10 years ago.
Every time I try to switch to Bing I end up going back to Google just for this feature. I mean, even my Home Page is Bing, yet my default search engine is Google *just* because of this.
I'm sure I am not the only one. It makes no sense not to have it unless there is a reason behind the scenes.
Now, if you excuse me, I've got to go to www.google.com to run my date-filtered search :o)
And by the way, someone should remove the Answer flag. This question is NOT answered yet.
I agree Andres. This question has not been answered.
It is sad that MS don't even care what their users want.
date filter is compulsasary for seacrching and managing data it can help the users?
I am adding one more voice to this issue. This is not a 'small' item. Being able to search with some date filters is a necessity for a full fledged search engine. Please consider this issue as a high priority.
I would switch to Bing EXCEPT I cannot live without Google's "Last Year" or "Last Month" or date range searches. This is crazy - people have asked for 3 years and . . . MS isn't listening.

Just made a comment pointing to this very thread. Wish this helps somehow to bring attention from the right people to this discussion, it is soooo frustrating...
I am sure a date filter appeared briefly this morning! At the bottom of the left-hand column. Honestly, it was there. Sadly it was only a fleeting appearance and has not been seen since!
I saw it too!
I changed "preferences" (top RH corner) and narrow by date appeared briefly, but it has now disappeared and I cannot get it to show again.

AMEN! WE WANT Last Year search!
I don't understand why way back in this thread there is an "official" MS post saying that the Narrow by Date filter is now available, but so many posts since then saying that it isn't! Where is the response from MS?
Today I have noticed that it is back again, but only for some searches! It is not random though; it is there repeatedly for the same search, and repeatedly not for others!
On searching I can find that Bing users where looking for the function to search a time or date range all the way back in 2009 and I was wondering if this is now possible as apparently it was "passed onto the team"? Even basic functionallity?
If not then this is crazy.
Everytime I need to do a search like this that say, only contains results from the last few days I will go straight to Google where this is easy to do. Then I stay on Google for a few searches, and a few more...
"...and just like that, he was gone."
This was working fine last week. I could narrow down results using last year, month, week, 24 hours, etc. Today It's not working for me at all. I don't even see the options on the left.
Using same browser as last week = Chrome . Search is for pgp cryptography
this post should be marked unanswered as it is not working for me today. I posted at the end of that thread with details.
