  • No offense intended; but if we have to ask you for help, something is wrong with the product. Read on... I just wasted an hour trying to submit my new web site to Yahoo Search. Surprisingly, Yahoo's site submission page kept sending me over to Bing. At that point, Bing requires verification that I own the site. Three methods are available for doing this. I chose the "CName alias" method, and instructions (8 crazy steps long) only vaguely match up with the dashboard at GoDaddy. The other two possible method selections are also absurdly confusing. Living proof, as I've seen countless times before: (A) Yahoo/ Bing TechnoNerds have real problems communicating effectively with the public. When dealing with "us" they are about as savvy as a bunch of Junior High kids. If the topic involves IT, non IT people can't follow them. It isn't just their lexicon... These people are a bunch of closet cases. Plus, as we see in my example, Technonerds are often so busy playing "security guard" that that rightful users often can't access what is offered. Thankfully, It took only a few minutes to submit to Google; submission method straight forward and convenient. Google better understands who end users are, and what we need. Further proof that Yahoo is a "loser" company, and Bing a piece of "junk". All these years since Google took center stage, and Yahoo/ Bing still don't know the magic words. Could everybody PLEASE read the FAQ's and SEARCH the forums for threads that may answer your question BEFORE you post.

The search function is here: - click on the "find content in the Bing Community" link.  I know it's not well shown but it seems that's all Bing can manage:

The FAQ's are available for download here:

    http://www.bing.com/community/forums/t/657467.aspx

PLEASE read them before posting, most of the questions asked in the forums could be answered by simply reading this.

In addition, PLEASE make sure that you include the relevant information when starting a thread, including the blatantly obvious details like your site's URL, which most people seem to either forget or not bother to post.  If you don't want your URL to show up in search results use http://bit.ly/ to mask the URL.

If you do not bother to provide basic information, DO NOT expect us to bother replying.
