I submitted http://www.bikeused.com which is a PHP site and that verification went ok.
I then submitted http://www.bikesused.com/store since it is a index file in html and that was verified ok by bing.
I then submitted http://www.bikesUsed.com/forum which is also PHP and it always comes back with a error as not verifiable. i don't know how you would add a meta tag url to a PHP page or if that is even possible? I did however upload a .xml page and it still gives the error.
Can anyone advise me of what is going on? Or maybe I don't have to submit the forum site since it's in PHP and will be indexed anywats?
Read Bing webmaster guidelines for this or if you need discussion on php than you are in wrong forum.
Add this URL:
Now you can add the meta tag here:
Open your Cpanel and edit index.php file:
Also, why are you adding sub-folders in Webmaster Center?
Adding just the main domain is enough : )
Thanks for the response.
The reason I was submitting sub-folders is that my sub-folders are not actually folders but actually index.html files representing a new site so to speak. As a whole my index.html pages are not being being seen or included by my sitemap generator. Also Google would not let me include my sub folders or sub domains for indexing so I created a index.html file within the folder which theoritically creates its own site. Did that make sense? Now Google indexes the sub domains as separate sites. Atleast that way the sub domains are being indexed.
I don't know if there is a problem or conflict when using php in the main site and then htnl in the sub domains? Maybe thats why my sitemap.xml does not show my html pages?
Just for reference....what I am trying to do in Bing webmaster tools is what I have already done in Google which was successful.
Just one more thing.....My websites main page is a classifieds site which is in PHP then my subdomain is a forum which is also in php and the two work together just fine and are indexed properly.
The next 2 sibdomains are in html ( a products store and a video page) and are not indexed or included with the former mentioned.
You can have PHP and HTML pages in your site/sub-domains/sub-folders: this will not create any conflict: actually, the PHP pages also have HTML coding: open your site and view the source code, you will only see HTML code: the PHP code is not shown in the source code:
Have you linked between all your subdomains?
Adding the Parent domain to the webmaster account is enough.
