I have two websites (http://www.rentalens.ca and http://zhamid.ca). Both of them have backlinks (one shows 14 on the webmaster tool). I submitted them both to Bing many weeks ago. I have submitted the sitemap as well.
The problem is that Bing Webmaster tool shows the crawl-date as N/A. Neither of these sites are indexed ... and I cannot figure out why. Google and Yahoo have no issues and generate a lot of traffic to my sites, but Bing refuses to even crawl.
Can someone please tll me what I am doing wrong? Thanks.
btw, i should mention that google shows over a hundred backlinks while bing only shows 14.
What tool are you using to count Google backlinks? I've used a couple, including a search in Google, and come up with zero backlinks. Yahoo Search, which typically seems to register the most has 41.
But the sheer number of links isn't as important as the number of links from relevant, authoritative websites. The MSNBot bases the depth of its crawl on the ranking characteristics (see the blog for ranking tips), so the more backlinks, the sooner and deeper it will crawl your website.
My experience with Live Search was that the wait for a first crawl was sometimes very long - unjustifiably long, in my view.
