Visit the Live Search Team at Consumer Electronics Show (CES)

January 05, 2007, 09:45 PM by Betsy | 6 Comments

Live Search is going to have a great presence in the Microsoft booth at CES this year, and we would love for Live Search blog readers who are going to CES to stop by and talk to us. We will have program managers and product managers from the search team there all week, so it's a great opportunity to give feedback directly to the product team, and get your questions about Live Search answered on the spot.

convention map The Live Search team will be in four kiosks in the Microsoft hall (C2) in the Las Vegas Convention Center (see map for details.) The Microsoft hall is divided into scenarios, and you will find Live Search and Live Search Maps kiosks in the Productivity Scenario area and Live QnA kiosk in the Communications scenario. People from our team will be at these kiosks during all the normal show hours.

Free Stuff Alert: In addition to the usual booth giveaways, we have some special stuff for Live Search blog readers. Stop on by the Live QnA kiosk, say hi to Betsy and get a snazzy QnA t-shirt for participating on the site (asking questions, giving answers, voting). We are also taking feature suggestions and improvements since we are not yet out of beta.

We look forward to seeing you and hearing what you think of Live Search in person. We look forward to seeing you and hearing what you think of Live Search in person, and showing you some of our cool new features like 3D Maps, QnA, new instant answers and more that can help you have a great time in Las Vegas next week.

Next year - allow global vitural interaction - the technology is available - and this would be an excellent outlet to demonstrate it

I really tried hard sticking with Live Search as my default search engine over the last few months, but it's come to the point where I'm really fed up with the significant difference in the quality of search results between Live Search and Google.  The latest example which highlights the disparity - try searching for "pillow angels" or "ashley treatment" to get entries about the tragic story about the girl in Seattle.  Not even close.   If you don't get the basics down right, all the extra whiz-bang features are not going to mean much.
