I'd enjoy in hearing more details about this part from your press release -- "The new Live Search has incorporated more user click-stream data to inform ranking and relevancy processes, yielding more relevant results across queries" -- if you would be willing to share details?  Perhaps pointers to relevant papers published from MSR and Live Labs?

It would be good to see a few follow-up blog posts here that describe some of the recent work that has been done.  That would provide more evidence behind the claim that there has been a substantial change in relevance.  That also would make it easier to know what to look for when using the new Live Search and when comparing the new Live Search to Google and Yahoo.

I cannot see the new version here, maybe it's because I have a french IP address? Is the new version of Live only available in the US?

Great job to everyone involved behind this. From a home page of about:blank you got me to switch to search.live.com

Like the new look and feel. But have a real issue with relevance though. Just made a couple of search queries.

1. web application security : The search results were not as one might expect. Expected OWASP to be the first.

2. "twenty20" returns most results related to cricket as expected, but curiously enough, the second result is about a camera. Can you be more clear as to which results are considered more relevant?

I have to say i am impressed. It is looking good from the UK today.

It has taken a while playing catch up, but i think i do actually think it is better then Yahoo now. Much closer to Google's results.

Now it's just time to try to get yourself some loyal users and make sure to keep improving to keep them on board.

I have read blog http://mynull.blogspot.com and fully agree with author. MSN, Yahoo, and google provide almost the same results. Therefore look forward as author suggest to cummunity driven groups (like StumbleUpon) to improve search results.

I love the new look and feel (colors) esp. Please stick to it now forever. Some people seem to like the older colors. Why doesn't MS allow customizing the colors like it allows customizing Live.com? And search results are relevant but it still feels slow.

Nice. Now if only you would include my web pages in your search past the first level.

The "1,2,3,4,5,Next" buttons look better on the center of the page horizontally, because while scolling using the mouse wheel, users dont usually keep the mouse to the left (directly on top of the search results) to avoid accidently clicking a result. And the last result on any page should scroll up till the middle of the page when you scroll down completely. That is still not happening. MS should add some white space at the bottom too and some white space between the search results too. But overall it's a huge leap compared to the old version. Good to see MS giving importance to layout and appearance.

Auto-spell correction should be a suggestion, like it is in google. "did you mean...?"

After all, the user might have typed something weird, but which is CORRECT to him. Why *assuming* he/she is wrong and having him go one extra click to the REAL search he was doing ?

Wouldn’t a link to the actual page you’re talking about have been quick, easy, and nonclueless?
