More cashback for Your Back to School Shopping

August 10, 2009, 10:10 AM by Bing | 16 Comments

We always have great deals on Bing Shopping for you, and now, for a limited time, we are making them even better! Starting today, you’ll be able to find cashback rewards as high as 50% from select merchants for this back to school shopping season. Think of this as a Bing stimulus package!

With all of these increased savings, Bing cashback gets you even more cashback than before! Now is a great time to buy that laptop and MP3 player you have always wanted or your bags, clothes or other items you may need for the new school year. To take advantage of these deals, simply search for what you are looking for at Bing. The cashback rates that you see already include any increases – what you see is what you get!

For example, let’s say you want to buy a new pair of shoes. When you search for ‘shoes’ on Bing, you’ll see a results page similar to below. You can click on any of the offers (just look for the cashback coin), say from Sears, ShoeBuy or eBay and go directly to that company’s site to make your purchase.

As another example, say, you searched for “laptops for sale.” You will see a link (and the cashback coin!) that takes you to bing.com/cashback.

If you click on the bing.com/cashback link, you can compare different offers by a variety of criteria including price, ratings, and more to help you decide which the laptop best meets your needs. As you review different offers on this page, you can also find more information about this back to school promotion by clicking the ‘Learn More’ link.

Even with all the advanced technology in Bing, we cannot make the summer last forever. To learn about some of our amazing deals, visit us on our facebook cashback page – we’ll be showcasing different deals each day.  Be sure to fan us while you’re there for all the info on amazing deals.

Happy Shopping!

This is a great offer. A big thank you, Bing for securing these deals. The best there is! Now is the right time for me to buy a few products I've been wanting to get.

Here are my 2 eurocents about Google Caffeine:

Google will move some of the processing from searcher to indexer as they realise most part of the term weight calculation doesn't change too much, in context and importance of other factors. Basically the indexer will store the term score instead of computing it at the search level, keeping for this only some small adjustments.

Its a small design flaw dating since the begining of the engine and I think they became aware of it long ago. There will be a small speed gain at the search level with a cost of storage space.

Of course, everything is just a marketing campaign against Bing big exposure, there will be not visible results for common user.

I think the reason they did this is the huge potential they noticed in Google Grid/Matrix....or whatever is that called and where more speed is needed in order to display cross referenced results. But, of course, I could be wrong :)

Cheers

This is a great offer. Is this offering is valid in Canada?

Hi Nikhil & Thusi - thanks for your comments. Currently Bing cashback is only available in the US and this back to school offer is not available in India or Canada for now.

Bing cash back is good. However, four out of the last six purchases I have made have not showed up in my account.  I have sent numerous support requests w/o a response.  I have even used a different e-mail address to see if there was a spam filter issue.  Still no e-mail.

I got my account cancelled because they claim I am not in the US, they don't answer emails, they are crap.

Finally got a response back from Bing.com support.  Seems like an e-mail login issue.  They are working on it.
