That's a great question. Hey, Bing - what's the answer?

As I understand, the sites that go under news are hand-picked. There was a post somewhere else in the forum about this. I believe there was an email address or something in it.

is there any specific information that I should include in the email?

Generally I pressume including the URL, Google News results link, About us link and Contact us would be sufficient. Is that correct?

After submitting the required email - how long does the review process usually take?

Is there an acknowledgemnt of the review taking place?

I have emailed in several times (6 or so) - I did get a reply back once saying that the site would be reviewed

"Please be assured that your submission is now noted and will be considered in a fair qualifying process."

I received that email on 7/14/09 it's now 8/20/09 and I still do not know whether we were accepted or rejected. If we were rejected it would be good to have a reason so that it could be addressed and we could resubmit.

We are a sports related site and NFL news is our main target. With the NFL football season starting we would like the opportunity to be listed in Bing News.

How long does the qualifying process actually take?

Does anyone know how long the process actually takes?

I have submitted our sitemap and received a "thank you for submitting your sitemap" message - which I had already done. I DONT believe this helps with inclusion in Bing news but I guess we will see.

Has anyone been able to get into Bing News and could possibly provide a timeline?

Does it take a week, a month  or a year

any insight would be appreciated

Even though Bing has indexed 5400+ of our pages, I have wondered if it reads google news site maps.
I do know that Bing does get pinged on every sitemap change by the program we use.
I would hope the same news sitemaps will be used.
With 39 now on the site I would hate to see that being doubled.
I also do not see a manual place to submit news-sitemaps in the tools.

Yes it would be great to understand how sites like the ones we compete with in Google News are indexed in Bing NEWS

I cant seem to understand why they are there and we are not - especially when we provide more current relative NEWS

Like I mentioned above I received acknowledgment that we were being considered...

but that was months ago and I have yet to get any positive or negative feedback from Bing
