PLEASE KEEP THIS POST AT THE TOP OF THE FORUM!

SOURCE OF BELOW

As some of you may have experienced, our “add a site” page has been unavailable in some locals for the past several days. This is not a site-wide or even global issue.

Unfortunately, this happened due to an update that uncovered a bug in the original code which caused us to disable the page in one of our Data Centers.

Good news is, we are testing a fix and will be releasing it to production as soon as we are sure it will not cause further complications.

I will update this post as soon as I receive word that the fix is in production.

On behalf of all of us here at Bing, we would like to extend our apologies and thank you for your continued patience.

Hi,

I've been commenting on all of these threads. I actually did post a thread on this issue:

http://www.bing.com/community/forums/t/649960.aspx

more to the point, I would like to apologize that this has gone on longer than we thought it would. We are testing a fix and should be releasing it shortly. I'll update this thread and our webmaster blog as soon as it goes live.

Thanks for your continued patience.

"BUT NO - Bing has decided to let everyone keep posting"

Well that's all nice but the stupid thing has been broken quite a while now(at least  since09-13-2009). It's not like you are some small time web service like some of us. You invented the internet, before you forgot how you did it.

Actually MS didnt invent the internet.  It was invented by CERN (France)!

Anyway - I just posted this message so people knew that everyone is affected.  Im just a fellow frustrated user like you, waiting for the tools to work!

I advised in on one of the threads where Brett Yount explained the situation that he post a sticky on the homepage of the Community. But it didn't happen.

However, isn't it disappointing that some people keep posting the same thing all over again, without even attempting to read past threads to know if the issue has been treated? I'm tired of explaining to these people that the add site feature is broken because I've done it several times already.

try not to get overly frustrated.  You'll be pulling your hair out before long!
