We’re very excited to announce a seamless solution for integrating Bing directly into your Windows 7 Windows Explorer, so that you can search the Internet just the way you search for files and folders in Windows Explorer now. The solution requires only that you download and open the Bing OpenSearch description document.
This document enables you to perform web searches. In the future, we plan to publish new OpenSearch description documents that will help you search, for example, the latest news from Bing - straight from your Windows Explorer. Stay Tuned!
To get started, just follow these 3 easy steps.

Does this work only on Windows 7? I am not able to use it on Windows Server 2008.

how do I integrate Bing with Windows Search v4.0 for XP/Vista/Windows7. When I double click the .osdx file it asks for which program to open with.
Please update the above instructions.

The X at the end of OSDX seems to suggest Office 2007. I might be wrong on that.

I am trying to open the document in Windows Vista but it comes up with a selection of programs dialog box. Is there any other manual way to do this? I would love to search bing with-in windows explorer. :)
This is very cool -- I love how it further integrates the online experience with the desktop experience. As another user said, I would love to see images done this way as well.
