If you have followed this blog in the past you may have wondered why the frequency of updates has slowed to an almost grinding halt. Well the simplest answer is that the Powerset team at Bing has been heads down building the next wave of features that will make Bing your favorite search engine, and has been a bit remiss in updating this blog. Back when we were on our own, we at Powerset realized the importance of building a strong and vibrant community, and keeping it informed of cool features and projects we were working on. When we joined the Microsoft family, and became part of the launch of Bing, we were happy to realize that Microsoft and Bing shared that same feeling of commitment to nurturing and growing a community that is passionate about our products. Therefore, we started to feel that consolidating our community efforts was the right choice. With today’s post, we are discontinuing the Powerset blog and merging our efforts to keep you informed and up to date with the main Bing community blogs. From time to time, our PMs and developers will post about a new feature we launched, or what we have in store for the next generation search snippets or answers, two of the areas where the Powerset team is making direct contributions to the quality of Bing. Let me assure you, there is a ton of cool stuff coming, and we can’t wait to be able to share it with you all. So, as we say goodbye to the Powerset blog, I hope you will all still be eager to know what makes Bing special and follow the Bing community blogs, to keep up to date with everything Bing. Hi, What has happened to Powerset? The service seems to have just disappeared today, and the website now redirects to Bing. I use Powerset search from my browser regularly to search Wikipedia because I love the way the results are displayed. Is there some replacement that gives the same functionality?
