This week we’re excited to launch a major update to Live Search that’s relevant, faster and easier to use. Hundreds of us rolled up our sleeves and dug deep. We pored over your feedback, analyzed the data and talked to thousands of users. How major is this? It's our biggest update since our debut in January 2005.
Here are just some of the areas we focused on:
In the coming weeks we’ll blog in detail about the improvements that we’ve made. You can also check out the press release that just hit the wire and the fact sheet for more information.
The end result is a service we believe is better across the board. Enjoy! We’re psyched to hear what you think.**

**The release is rolling out worldwide as we speak. The links above should take you directly into the new experience if you’re not already seeing it on your own!

I'd enjoy in hearing more details about this part from your press release -- "The new Live Search has incorporated more user click-stream data to inform ranking and relevancy processes, yielding more relevant results across queries" -- if you would be willing to share details? Perhaps pointers to relevant papers published from MSR and Live Labs?
It would be good to see a few follow-up blog posts here that describe some of the recent work that has been done. That would provide more evidence behind the claim that there has been a substantial change in relevance. That also would make it easier to know what to look for when using the new Live Search and when comparing the new Live Search to Google and Yahoo.
I guess now is the right time to start blogging about the new live search! For all of you who want to
an interesting update on the live search, it is also good if this update makes a room for webmasters to check their site performance via a webmaster tool announced earlier
* Relevance, relevance, relevance.
>We’ve quadrupled the size of our index, which means we >can return the right results for your searches.
It means only you have big DB, which can contain relevant and irelevant iformation.
>Improvements like enhanced ranking algorithms
give us more details on that.
*auto-spell correction
passed step for many search-engines
* Speed. Pages load much faster than before.
less dressed pages more speed
* Streamlined look and feel.
look and feel is a very depends on persons, give us possiblity of interface customization, default interface should be as simple as google.com
* More high-interest content. You asked us for more in Entertainment, Shopping, Health, Local and Video search and we’re happy to deliver it.
Really? Who asked?
I really dislike the new result link colour...
it is so ugly, so google!
Please bring the old colour back, because one of the reason of me using live search is because it is not ugly
=]
Good to see your progress. Looking forward to the larger indices.
I cannot see the new version here, maybe it's because I have a french IP address? Is the new version of Live only available in the US?
Great job to everyone involved behind this. From a home page of about:blank you got me to switch to search.live.com
Like the new look and feel. But have a real issue with relevance though. Just made a couple of search queries.
1. web application security : The search results were not as one might expect. Expected OWASP to be the first.
2. "twenty20" returns most results related to cricket as expected, but curiously enough, the second result is about a camera. Can you be more clear as to which results are considered more relevant?
I have to say i am impressed. It is looking good from the UK today.
It has taken a while playing catch up, but i think i do actually think it is better then Yahoo now. Much closer to Google's results.
Now it's just time to try to get yourself some loyal users and make sure to keep improving to keep them on board.
Compete and Nielsen show Microsoft gaining search share over the summer, while comScore and Hitwise show the company losing share. Regardless of these numbers, however, Microsoft is confident that the search engine it's reintroducing tonight in conjunction
I have read blog http://mynull.blogspot.com and fully agree with author. MSN, Yahoo, and google provide almost the same results. Therefore look forward as author suggest to cummunity driven groups (like StumbleUpon) to improve search results.
Microsoft heeft een nieuwe versie van hun Live Search gelanceerd. De zoekmachine is nu sneller, gebruiksvriendelijker en geeft relevantere zoekresultaten. Kan Microsoft hiermee de strijd aanbinden met Google?
With the announcement of the new version of Windows Live Search , we are also launching the integrated
