This week we're excited to announce that the Live Search Webmaster Center has moved out of its closed beta and we are now open for a public beta. In conjunction with this release we want to announce the creation of the Live Search Webmaster Center blog. In an effort to serve our webmaster community better we will be sharing information on how to improve your crawlablity and visibility.
We want the center and the blog to be a place for two way communication between Live Search and the webmaster community because we understand that SEO's and webmasters need this kind of information and the tools we are building to keep their sites performing well.
In the coming weeks we'll blog in detail about the improvements that we've made. Being a webmaster is what you do best. We want to provide a service that will help make you even better. Enjoy!

The meta tag verification needs to be updated. Not everyone uses XHTML as their DOCTYPE. For example, I code to HTML strict so a self closing tag isn't used for the meta tag. The only way to validate the site using the meta tag option is to add an invalid self-closing meta tag.
Both Yahoo and Google just search for the meta tag regardless of the closing tag so it works for both HTML and XHTML.
Nice feature. I was actually waiting for such a platform to get more communication with the Live SE.
I'm getting failed validation every time I try to add a site. Yet, I can't get any info on the details for the validation xml or meta. Catch 22 or am I missing the obvious?
Anytime I try to add my site, I'm told "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again". Am I the only one who receives this?

Below is what happened in search today, as reported on Search Engine Land and from other places across the web....
Thanks God, we finally can have some interaction with Live Search.
Wow, I'm very excited to start using this new feature.
wow i would really enjoy this new feature
I've been waiting for the tools been opened for public.
I will enjoy the fearture at most.
Thank you very much.
Good news. Webmasters all over the internet are glad to have these tools.
I just wish MSN would find a way to weed out the sites that spam your algorithm with "counter spam". Which is when they give out free website counters to unsuspecting webmasters. The counters include links back to the target URL and the target URL then gains a great deal of inbound links. It works and helps the target URL place highly in the MSN search results.
I still keep getting the error message every time I try to add a site. Have tried clearing cache and stuff but makes no difference. So guess what I changed from using firefox to using IE and all of sudden it started to work - spooky that!
Been waiting for this for some time however, just tried to set up some URLs but keep getting 'Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again' just as an earlier post. Is this teething problems or is the system overloaded?
Hi together i have the same problem i cant add any url in the wemaster tools... strange because it looks good and i like to test it.
