There are really just two types of searches:
We've been working hard on the "Tell me now" type of search, or as we Live Search boffins call it, "instant answers." Instant answers show up at the top of your search results, offering the most relevant information we have to answer the direct or implied question in a query. We have quite a few currently on Live Search. Have you tried any of these?
Check this blog in a month to find out about other cool new instant answers on Live Search.

Is this feature only working in the US? If I try the examples here in Austria I get the usual search results.
Thanks.
That's strange; I remember the Traffic Instant Answer used to have a slightly larger map, and you could even zoom with your mouse's scroll wheel. I wonder what happened?
I hope you guys improve #1 much more too.
Feature doesn't work in Canada either. Actually, over all, Live Search Canada barely works. What's up with that?
Great feature. Thanks for the great stuff.
Whoever seriously expects an _answer_ by typing something into a textbox labeled "search", should think again or better find the textbox labeled "ask/question" before complaining about blue links.
(Would green or purple links make you feel better anyway?)
Why does MS demand on doing lots of different stuff with one Textbox for user input?
Is there some kind of philosophy behind this? Does it make Live feel more "magical" to its users?
Why doesnt microsoft split up live into two sections, one for searching terms and one for answering questions? Search XOR Ask!
Google has dozens of different applications for finding (or answering) different kinds of stuff (books, maps, anything, ...).
This way, one could progressivly increase the quality of both tasks separatelly and more safely/easily than relying on one single user input string, which is difficult to classify and fully depends on its contextual meaning.
I just read an interesting blog post in the official Microsoft Live Search blog. Department chief Vachovsky posted that there will be an "Instant Answers" feature included in Microsofts live search. This feature should answer your questions directly instead
eline sağlık çok güzel bir yazı olmuş thanks
I like the idea behind getting the best result as quickly as possible - however the is the slight little problem of choice - this is why the ten blue line work, imho.
If the search engine does not give me what I am looking for the first time in the way of results or choice that answers my question - I will go somewhere else.
Has this simple lesson inside MS been forgotten already? You gave us results that were not answering the questions - we got Google instead...
