Welcome to a new feature on Bing Travel – Blinks. Blinks are the Bing editors’ favorite links to travel-related stories from around the Web. Bing + links = Blinks, cute, right?

We love to read about travel almost as much as we love to travel. And, lucky for you, we’re good at sharing. We’ve posted a new list of our favorite travel stories, travel news and other discoveries from around the Web.

So, if you are planning a trip or dreaming about an upcoming trip check the Bing Travel blog for more Blinks. Share your discoveries or feedback in the comments area. And be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed and become a fan on Facebook

Here are some of our recent favorites:

  • A new bill before Congress aims to standardize the rules for carry-on baggage and increase the size limit to 22 inches by 18 inches by 10 inches. Plus, as Tripso reported, the Transportation Security Administration would become responsible for enforcing the carry-on rules by using a template at security (Tripso).
  • We’ll admit it – we’re fascinated with the varying styles of toilets we encounter when we travel. Heck, we even dedicated an entire photo gallery to potty pics from around the world. Budget Travel has posted an informative video on how to use a squat toilet (BudgetTravel).
  • Lions and tigers and tents? Oh my, National Geographic’s travel blog has a list of U.S. zoos around the country where you can stay overnight (Intelligent Travel).
  • The New York Times’ Matt Gross, aka the Frugal Traveler, tests out airfare bookings sites and shares his favorites. He also shares good travel Web sites for booking hotels, choosing the right seat on the plane and meeting locals (The Frugal Traveler).
  • Want to kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland or feed the pigeons in Venice? You may want to get your vaccinations or pack the Purell before visiting those or any of the other Germiest World Attractions (TripAdvisor via Gadling).

I'll be back to share nice trips :)

    Bingo

  • Great post! Keep up the good work!

  • Visit Tamarindo, Costa Rica for a relaxing vacation.

  • I couldn’t be more sure.

  • Just spent time in the Great Smokey Mtns... went on a crazy "Hummer" tour that really showed us some of the wonderfull rugged landscape of the eastern edge of the park.  I was a little skeptical of the Hummer Tours ad, but after the ride, they lived up to the name!  I'm in the military, and have driven Hummer's since the early 90's, but never have seen this vehicle put throught the paces this company does, great fun for the family, their trails take you deep into the woods on some really gutted out, bouncy ride. Most of the time, you are surrounded by clay walls, scrubbing down the sides of the Hummer, so keep you hands inside.  My wife and 7 year old loved it!  Worth the $42 bucks, for about 1.5 hours of fun.  Good job Hummer tours!  jim  US Arm 91-98, USAF, 98 - present.
