Best places to see fireworks

In big cities and small towns across the country, Americans will be “oohing” and “ahhing” this Fourth of July weekend as fireworks displays light up the sky. Cities like New York, Boston and San Francisco are renowned for their star-spangled spectaculars, but this new article on Bing Travel lists a dozen more sites recommended by the American Pyrotechnics Association.

With this year’s holiday falling on a Saturday, many places are hosting festivities throughout the weekend. On Friday, July 3, Addison, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), becomes KaBOOM town, while Columbus, Ohio, will host an event it calls “Red, White and BOOM!” And in Stone Mountain, Ga., spectators can enjoy fireworks and a laser light show at the base of the mountain on July 3, 4 and 5.

Check out the story for more great places to see fireworks. Then, tell us about your favorite dazzling pyrotechnic displays. What’s the best way to get a perfect vantage point? Share your suggestions and tips in the comments section.

  • I'm looking forward to the fireworks displays. My favorite pyrotechnic displays are the ones that provide sparkle and excitement for any outdoor or indoor event.

  • The best place I know of is in Dolomites New Years Eve on the top of the mountain. Have been to Andalo - Paganella and managed to find myself on the top when firworks were going off to celebrate New Year - fantastic !

  • Its really not so that only big cities of the US are known for the firework. there are many small towns as well which goes ga ga during most of the festivals and are known for really great fireworks.

  • firework displays are not just for the big cities even small cities have firework displays.

  • My gosh! i'd like to visit there! just what http://baraaza.com/ recommended me where to visit some beautiful fireworks events! I've talked with lots of people there and learned a lot about different countries because of baraaza.com ;)

  • Fire works in Singapore & Thiland is great.

  • The fireworks from the Del Mar Fair in Del Mar, CA are fantastic. To one side you have a view of the Pacific Ocean and to the other the Del Mar Fairground with all of the rides lit up. If you're lucky, the train will even go by. Got some great pictures of the event from my view from the hill. One of the best fireworks I've seen, although, nothing can beat the firework spectacular at Disneyland!

  • The BEST place to watch the fireworks is from the Upper Peninsula. We'd take the boat out past the Mackinack Bridge and from the lake you could see the fireworks from 4 or 5 different cities. Everywhere you looked the sky was lighting up.
