Do these weather headlines have you daydreaming of someplace sunny? In a new slide show, “Tropical Vacations: No U.S. Passport Required,” Bing Travel highlights the lovely geographical band that encircles the globe in a warm embrace.
Tropical vacations can include far-flung destinations such as Brazil, central Africa and Indonesia. But American citizens have options closer to home that don’t require a U.S. passport. Florida and Hawaii are obvious choices. For other opportunities to enjoy the beach and stimulate the American economy, consider the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands — all of which are U.S. territories.

Maui!!!! If you want to relax, avoid crowds and you don't have to go to a night club, Maui is the place to be.
SAN DIEGO!! OK,so I live there, but I still love the place. Average temperature of 65 for the year but only 2 or 3 weeks where a air conditioner is absolutely required. The Zoo and Wild Animal Park plus Sea World are hot spots when visitors are in town, but Sea World is $55 for a child pass. Pretty steep for watching marine animals. January and February are ideal ies to see he hump back whales migrate south to Baja.
Of course!!! There is no place like ARUBA!!! The best spot to reconnect with life's essential needs. Nature, Beauty and ...Relax. Of course it is for people who are special. The island spirit on itself it's like a vortex that keeps attracting balanced people!!!
I would say the Canary Islands or Kauai, which is one of my favorites.
Ke'e Beach, just a few miles past Hanalei Bay, is just gorgeous. Located at the north end of the Na Pali coast, it's rarely crowded because of the lack of parking. We normally just walk a little to the north and there's a spot where a stream runs into the sea. Most of the time we have the area to ourselves, with maybe a few couples walking through. Wish I was there right now....

Hi Lawrence: Thanks for your input. South Florida is an interesting case. NOAA classifies Fort Myers, for example, as “subtropical,” but the Köppen climate classification calls it a "tropical savanna climate." So while it's true that south Florida is more than a 100 miles north of the Tropic of Cancer, the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico boost temperatures and help classify its climate as “tropical.”
