Yearning to see Picassos, dinosaur bones or World War II airplanes? No problem. Visit the stately Louvre in Paris, the vast Smithsonian Institution complex in Washington, D.C., or the Museum of Flight in Seattle.
What if you’d rather see Mae West’s chauffeur-driven lounge car, a cockroach dressed like Liberace or a totally awesome collection of barbed wire? In that case, you’ll want to peruse Bing Travel’s newest slide show, 14 Bizarre Museums. It’s a pictorial essay of stellar destinations such as the RV Hall of Fame and Museum, the Museum of Bad Art, the Barbed Wire Museum and the Cockroach Hall of Fame and Museum. And yes, the latter actually has a tiny specimen named “Liberoachi.” You’ll find him a few antennae lengths from “Marilyn Monroach.”

The Hammer Museum in Haines, AK is dedicated exclusively to hammers. There is collection of 1500 hammers starting with ancient times. Sure, it is a quirky museum but actually very interesting and run by volunteers. Haines is mainly a summer destination and the museum is open only between May and September. If you're in the southeast part of Alaska do not miss this museum.
Jello Fans....if you are a devotee of Jello products, then when you're in the Buffalo NY area you must stop in to see the Jello Museum. Located in Leroy NY, it's a converted schoolhouse filled with a variety of Jello memorabilia. The staff is happy to tell you the history of Jello from the early days right up through the Bill Cosby Jello pudding pops commercials. There's also an antique transportation museum located in the basement that you might find interesting.

I have a two for one that is worth stopping to visit. The Mooney Warther Museum in Dover, Ohio. There is a button museum that displays thousands of buttons that Mrs. Warther collected. The main attraction is the museum which houses Mooney Warther's carved train collection. It is phenomenal !!! The museum also sells world-class kitchen knives. All in all a wonderful afternoon.
My wife and I went to one in TOMAR in the middle of Portugal and visited their match museum...and apart from that there was nothing else but big fish in a piece of their river where they and the ducks fought over the scraps thown at them
