Kathmandu Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport is the worst of the worse, bar none. sure it's a poor country, but for a country that relies on tourists it needs to take better care of the tourist experience. the airport is horrid. bathrooms are filthy, with poop/urine on the floor; no concept of customer service anywhere; chaotic; the list goes on. come on Nepal, love your country but the airport is a health hazzard!!

I do play the luggage game. I am sad to admit that.. I do check one bag for the $25 and then put all the heavy things I have in my carry-on bag ( which is the correct size) but I travel a lot and usually for several weeks. I do need to learn to carry less. The whole thing about checking at the gate is wrong.

The recommendations sound good for the major cities in the USA too. Stick to main tourist areas and don't drive in the "bad" parts of town at night. It's what I do when we go to Chicago and it's what I have been doing the last 2 weeks while enjoying the sunshine and the beautifully hospitable people of Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

Ok, we all notice the high cost. Even those people who seem to find all the deals. I'm not looking for the deals, I just want to rent a car. Couple years ago I went to hawaii. One week, out the door, $210. Last month in Kansas City, four days, $360. I'ts a crime.

I went up this Mendenhall glacier the easy way, by helicopter, 10 years ago. The pilot flew us close to the surrounding mountains,my greates visual experience ever, before dropping us on top of the ice. Don't know if they still have that service.
