Why is it that bing/msn bot fails to index more than a couple of hundred pages on my site? My site has good ranking in bing webmaster, ranks well in Google, good Page Rank and Google indexes 7,720 pages, but Bing only indexes 125 pages.
The site is www.cookingjunkies.com
If bing is going to be a threat to Google then it has to index more pages. Even a large site like Drugs.com only has 19,700 pages in bing, Google lists 835,000.

indexing is based on rank to an extent. However, we have commonly agreed that our index is not as large as Google's. I believe some changes are being made to bridge some of this gap, but they won't take effect until November.

Many have been been crying about this issue, and now we have to wait till November to rectify it. Not all my pages are indexed, but a sizable number are.

If you want search engine index your deep page , I recommend create backlink to your deeplink too , not only back to main index page

I got the same issue here. it seems very difficult for my blog pages to get indexed by bing.

It takes a huge amount of infratructure to manage the massive volumes of data that a search engine has to deal with. Just think of how many websites there are in existence - its a huge number. Bing have to draw the line somewhere, so my guess is that they do their best to index the most important pages.
As your site is a forum I think it might be treated differently to a more static website.
