Very little, and any traffic it does bring will be non-affective.

Social bookmarking is mainly used to create back-links to sites, a number of people use Facebook for affiliate sales, but they will use Facebook more as an e-mail list top send direct requests than expecting random traffic from it.

The traffic they will bring will be very low.

Of course they bring traffic to sites! It's beyond me why some of you are simply slagging social bookmarking off. It can be very targeted. 

Bookmarking your sites does not automatically make your site a traffic junkie but it can help. If you have quality content and it is dugg by a power user you can expect a lot of quality traffic. Why is it targeted? Because there is a middle man(The Social Bookmarking site) that offers the user no incentive. So they are visiting entirely of their own will because they are interested. 

A tweet from a user with many followers will do the same, likewise with Facebook. Social bookmarking sites are the no.1 way to get a piece of content to go viral because a hot topic is spread very quickly. If your site is generic and offers nothing particularly amazing or interesting you shouldn't expect much from social bookmarking services but it will hardly be a wasted effort.

And here Shooter points out the entire issue with the idea behind "organic" links and websites in general.

90% of the websites out there are trash, why WOULD anyone recommend those sites to anyone else? 

Most people in this forum think of social bookmarks as how much it costs per 100/1000 for someone to make links for them. If people knew that thousands of links they can get without spending a penny just by putting something decent on their site (think unique and useful) then they may jsut spend the time needed to make it happen.

I found that though one does not receive direct traffic from these social bookmarking sites there is the benefit of SEO on the sites and I believe it does have bearing though I can't verify that. However, working for a client I did use social bookmarking (the ones you mentioned and others like http://stumbleupon.com, http://diigo.com).Bear in mind that I implemented a whole lot of other SEO techniques like article writing, press releases and so forth. Over time the site is solid in it's ranking and gets good quality traffic every day. From my experience doing SEO work slowly and building it every day is well worth it.

I also spoke with an acquaintance who was featured on digg or delicious or one of these popular social bookmark sites and he ended up getting something like 10,000 visitors. Again I think it's creating quality content.

So in short I think you should submit to it but don't neglect the other SEO techniques as well.

Social networking should be used as part of your global strategy, but other sources should also be considered to get lots of traffic.

I have been posting to many social bookmarking website and nothing work so well. Except for stumble upon. There are certain traffic comes from stumbleupon whereas the rest just nothing. So i am not sure why there are many more social bookmarking out there when it function become so useless.
