Description

Located in downtown Palo Alto, Bistro Maxine is the perfect location for French bistro feel and European atmosphere. Opened in June 2006, it is the only place to offer real authentic French crêpes. The decor is strongly influenced by a French café, the bistro type tables with their brass ring Moreand the rattan chairs were imported from France, so was the crêpe griddles and equipment. Most importantly, our batter mix comes from France, and if you are craving for the original "Galette au sarasin", we offer buckwheat batter as an option. In addition, we serve top of the line espresso drinks; you haven't had a latte until you try one of ours served in a traditional bowl. And if you are lucky enough, you might be able to strike a conversation "en Français", mais bien sur...

I got the maxine crepe, crepe of the day special for $5.95: egg, spinach and mushroom buckwheat crepe. I like that the crepe wasn't buttery and heavy, the spinach was fresh.Note: the Yelp $10 for $15 is only applicable for dinner at specific times.I'll have to come back to use my Yelp deal at dinner sometime and try a sweet crepe too.. Everything was just perfect for a Sunday morning brunch. We tried three savory Crepes and all were very tasty. My favorite part of the brunch was this huge bowl, yes bowl of hot chocolate. This is my new favorite place for brunch in Bay Area. More
  • Rating: 3.0 out of 5"by Amy H. at Yelp User Review4/6/2014This restaurant is pretty small but somehow three small tables were cleaned and the seven of us were able to sit there until closing. This place is so French especially with the coffee or cappuccino that my friend ordered. It was literally the size of a soup bowl and it was out of this world. I guess that is what the … More
  • Rating: 1.0 out of 5"by Sutton F. at Yelp User Review3/30/2014Walked in today, Sunday at 2:22 pm, only to hear the man behind counter immediately tell me, "Sorry, we're closed." This after driving around downtown Palo Alto looking for parking and nearly damaging my car trying to back out of an egregiously tight space in the lot across the street. Lots of effort. No cafe au … More
