DETROIT, MI – Troy-based Molina Healthcare of Michigan is moving into 30,000 square feet of space in the Detroit Media Partnership Building at 615 W. Lafayette Blvd. in downtown Detroit, The Detroit News reports.

The 404,000-square–foot, Albert Kahn-designed building, currently home to the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News, will house up to 125 Molina employees, according to The News.

Quicken Loans founder and chairman Dan Gilbert's Bedrock Real Estate Services bought the building in June.

In April, Molina Healthcare of Michigan, a subsidiary of Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Healthcare, Inc., announced it plans to add 462 new jobs in Metro Detroit as part of a $20.3 million capital investment.

With that investment, the state agreed to give the company a $2,296,000 performance-based grant. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation said the company’s Michigan expansion was chosen over competing sites in Kentucky, Texas, Florida and Arizona.

Molina said at the time it planned to expand its Midwest headquarters in Troy while also leasing office space in downtown Detroit.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Media Partnership, which includes the Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, the Livingston County Press & Argus and the Observer & Eccentric, is currently in the process of moving out of the six-floor building in October and into the Federal Reserve Building at 160 W. Fort St., which Gilbert’s firm also owns. About 550 employees are expected to make the move.
