Pizza Hut may be known for it unusual pizza designs (such as the stuffed crust pizza), but it's latest advertisement  takes a more creative approach to promotion; satire of modern technology.

The ad begins with the video's narrator lamenting the "rise" of the selfie stick. According to the narrator, the ability to move the camera away from the subject is causing all kinds of trouble.

"By moving the camera away from the central subject of the selfie, the selfie stick creates the illusion that other places, objects, and even people exist," the narrator says. "The curiosity generated by this point of view leads our self-centered friends out into a much wider world."

The ad goes on to talk about how the increasing size of the selfie stick can cause environmental and personal damage, such as destroying stands and knocking things over. In fact, Pizza Hut is willing to argue that the promotion of bigger selfie sticks will eventually lead to everything getting bigger, including (unsurprisingly) Pizza Hut's pizza.

By the end of the ad, it's clear that Pizza Hut is just trying to get people to buy a Big Flavor Dipper Pizza, a pizza "so big it cannot fit in a traditional selfie." The ad has resonated with a number of viewers.

One writer from Yahoo explains that "as someone that has to trudge through masses of people waving selfie sticks around trying to take pictures of New York's Times Square every morning, I can attest to the accuracy of Pizza Hut's ad." Gizmodo described the ad as "a much needed public service announcement."

Earlier this month, Walt Disney World placed a ban on using selfie sticks inside the park.
