Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who was admitted to AIIMS earlier this week for respiratory infection, is making satisfactory progress.

Jaitley, 61, is expected to be discharged from the hospital by weekend, hospital sources said.

AIIMS spokesperson Amit Gupta said that Jaitley has been showing steady improvement in his health since he was admitted on September 28 with chest infection.

"His vital organs are normal, he has exercised and eaten well today. He has also done some immediately urgent official work from his isolation room.
