Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) Is Rising On Better Than Expected Q2 Results

Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT) reported second quarter EPS of $0.29 after the bell Thursday, up from $0.21 in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.28. The company expects to report third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.31 to $0.35. Analysts are expecting EPS of $0.33. The stock is now up 0.61 on 1.2 million shares.

Applied Materials traded in a range for the majority of Thursday's session and closed down by 0.07 at $19.86. The stock pulled back from the upper end of a 2-week trading range.
