McDonald's may unleashing one of it's most unexpected menu items in the North-Eastern United States this summer with the return of the Lobster Roll (formerly referred to as the McLobster).

The sandwich, which initially failed in the U.S. but has found recent success in Canadian restaurants, will be available in New England markets this summer for $7.99 for an individual sandwich, or $10.99 for a value meal. It is set to contain meat from North Atlantic lobsters (meat will come primarily from cheaper claws rather than tails) and will only consist of 290 calories.

"The return of the Lobster Roll is exciting because we have requests for it every summer," spokesperson Nicole Garvey said. "It's a delicious sandwich and we are thrilled to offer this regional favorite at a great value."

With the sandwich's return to the U.S., it made us wonder about other international market items that seem kind of crazy to be available at McDonald's--but that we may not be hesitant to try. Here are our five favorites:

Bacon and Potato Pie (Sold in Japan)

Americans tend to love their bacon--so this Japanese treat which is a deep fried pie filled with mashed potatoes, bacon and cheese--would likely sell well in some markets here.

McSpaghetti (Phillippines) & Pasta Zoo (New Zealand)

Sold in two different countries, these pasta dishes may seem like a weird choice at McDonald's--but a parent who wants to feed their child a healthier option would love the Pasta Zoo, which is animal shaped ravioli stuffed with cheese and vegetables.

McCurry Pan (India)

Feeling some Indian cuisine? There's no reason McDonald's can't give this a try in the U.S. for those enjoy it. This specific dish consists of a regular bread bowl filled with chicken and vegetables in a tomato curry sauce.

Pizza McPuff (Morocco)

Who wouldn't love what is basically the McDonald's version of a pizza Hot Pocket?

McBeer

Seriously, WHY is this not a beverage option in the States? It seems like such a natural companion to any standard burger and fries.
