MicroVision Inc., the Redmond maker of ultra-miniature projection display technology, reported it cut its third-quarter loss to $3.8 million, or a loss of 15 cents to share, from a loss of $7.8 million, or a loss of 57 cents per share a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Thomson/First Call expected a third-quarter loss of 20 cents per share for MicroVision (NASDAQ: MVIS).
According to MicroVision, in the latest quarter, revenue rose to $2.6 million from $1.8 million in 2011. In late May, Microvision received a $4 million order from Pioneer Corp. for technology Pioneer will incorporate into its future automotive navigation systems.
