NHL 15's latest content update brings back more scuttled features

NHL 15 developer EA Canada released the third content update for the hockey game yesterday on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, continuing to add missing elements back in while bringing in some new items.

Online team play leads the list of features returning to NHL 15 in the update. Support for full six-on-six online play (five skaters plus a goalie for each team) debuted in 2008's NHL 09, but at launch, NHL 15 only offered one-on-one games. However, like most other elements of NHL 15, even the implementation of online team play is half-baked. You can only partake in ranked games with matchmaking — no teaming up with friends — and you can only play with up to five skaters a side; goalies are controlled by the CPU.

Yesterday's update also brings back the NHL Entry Draft between Be A GM seasons. You'll have three minutes to make a pick or a trade, but can call for a timeout if you need to think it over. CPU teams will propose trades to each other and offer them to you, too.

Other elements of the update include third jerseys for NHL teams like the Tampa Bay Lightning (screenshot above), and minor league clubs such as the OHL's Sarnia Sting.
