CBS Corp. and AT&T said on Wednesday that they have reached an agreement to continue their carriage agreement.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The companies said the deal includes carriage of the CBS-owned TV stations, Showtime Channels, CBS Sports Network, Smithsonian and Pop, which is set to launch in 2016 on the AT&T U-verse pay TV service.
“Ultimately, we both want to provide our customers with the shows they want, when and how they care to watch,” the companies said in a joint statement. Without detailing the length of the new deal, they said they have reached “an agreement to continue our long-standing relationship.”
They previously announced a carriage deal in the summer of 2012. CBS Corp. is led by president and CEO Leslie Moonves.
Discovery Communications and Comcast are also engaged in big carriage renewal talks as their current agreement expires around the middle of this year. The companies haven’t specified a date.
