Daimler AG Confirms Purchase Of Stakes In MV Agusta
It has been a while since the first report came out that Daimler AG would be purchasing MV Agusta shares. Now the German manufacturer has confirmed purchase of 25 percent shares in the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer.
Daimler AG will now have access to MV Agusta's motorcycle technology. The Italian manufacturer has pioneered the use of three-cylinder engines for their motorcycles. German company would get an insight and can work on improving the mill for their benefit.
The German automobile giant has purchased 25 percent shares in MV Agusta through their performance brand Mercedes-AMG. The Italian manufacturer will benefit from Daimler AG's wide network of dealership across the globe.
No details have been confirmed so far regarding the financial terms of this agreement. They have only revealed that this partnership focuses on marketing and sales of MV brand across the globe.
Over the past few years several four-wheeler manufacturers have purchased shares in two-wheeler companies. The most popular acquisition was of Ducati being merged with Volkswagen group. The German manufacturer paid a sum of 860 million Euros to Ducati.
At this recent Paris Motor Show German automobile giant had showcased its XL sport car. The speciality of this vehicle was that it sported a two-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower made by Ducati themselves.
Daimler AG has confirmed that it would not be introducing MV Agusta engines in their vehicles anytime soon. They plan to work together to improve the efficiency of their motors as new and strict vehicle pollution norms will be introduced soon.
