BofI Holding Q2 Profit Tops View - Quick Facts

BofI Holding Inc. (BOFI) Thursday reported second-quarter net income attributable to common stockholders of $19.3 million or $1.26 per share, compared to $13.1 million or $0.91 per share last year.

Net interest income for the latest second quarter rose 46.6% to $48.1 million from $32.8 million in the prior year period, while non-interest income was $6.7 million, up 20.8% from $5.5 million in the year-ago period.

On average, 5 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.22 per share on revenues of $47.16 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Loan loss provision was $2.9 million for the quarter compared with $1.0 million a year ago. The increase was primarily the result of growth in the loan portfolio.
