Wacky promotional strategy for `Vathikuchi`

With just days away from its theatrical release, the team of forthcoming Tamil crime-thriller ‘Vathikuchi’ will Tuesday promote the film through flash mobs and auto drives in the state.

Chennai: With just days away from its theatrical release, the team of forthcoming Tamil crime-thriller ‘Vathikuchi’ will Tuesday promote the film through flash mobs and auto drives in the state.
"Four to five branded auto-rickshaws starting today will ply to places such as Madurai, Trichy and Coimbatore promoting the film. A bunch of youngsters will travel to these places in the autos and dance to the songs from the film," director Kinslin told reporters. "Since the hero in the film plays an auto driver, we believed promoting through auto-rickshaws will make sense. Most of these scenes in the film were shot in crowded places of Chennai, and therefore, these youngsters will perform in such places to attract onlookers," he added. Is the cast not joining the promotions? "Lead actors will join the team on the release day of the film March 15 here. We have also arranged for 100 autos with banners and stickers of the film to ply in the city for the next three days," he said. Debutant Dhileban and Anjali play the lead in the film, which is about crimes committed in the city in a different angle. ‘Vathikuchi’ also features Saranya Ponvannan, Sampath Raj, Jayaprakash, Raja and Rajshree. It is jointly produced by Murugadoss Productions and Fox Star Studios. The film has music by Ghibran and cinematography by RB Gurudev. IANS
