Buckle leaves New York to take charge of Cheltenham

Paul Buckle has been named new manager of Cheltenham Town.

Cheltenham have appointed ex-Bristol Rovers boss Buckle as their new manager on a 12-month rolling deal.

The 43-year-old replaces Mark Yates, who was sacked on Tuesday after five years in charge at the League Two club.

Yates, a former Robins captain, led the club to two play-off campaigns but they are currently 18th in the table after four straight defeats.

Buckle has been working in the United States since quitting as Luton boss last year.

He has been working as the Technical Director for the Metropolitan Oval, a United States Soccer Federation development academy
