Fortune Brands Home & Security, Inc. (FBHS) Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $93.3 million or $0.55 per share, up from $64.0 million or $0.37 per share in the same period last year.
On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.54 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Sales increased 10 percent to $1.14 billion from $1.04 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.17 billion.
Looking ahead to the fiscal 2014, the company currently projects adjusted earnings in the range of $1.88 to $1.96 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $1.92 per share.
