Zenyatta Ventures has added industry veteran Ken Stowe to its board of directors.

The well-respected mining engineering has more than 35 years of experience under his belt.

He was mostly recently president and CEO of Northgate Minerals from 2001 until his retirement in 2011.

Stowe spent 21 years with Noranda in various corporate, operational, research and development roles. He has also held senior positions at Diamond Fields Resources and Westmin Resources.

In 2006, Stowe received the prestigious award of Canadian Mineral Processor of the Year which recognizes an individual with great accomplishments and contributions in the field of mineral processing.

Stowe previously served as vice-president of technology at Diamond Fields Resources, overseeing the feasibility study of the Voisey's Bay nickel-copper deposit prior to its acquisition by Inco.

Zenyatta is preparing to do a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) of its Albany graphite deposit, near Hearst in northeastern Ontario.

“Ken is a creative leader with vision, backed by deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience,” said Aubrey Eveleigh, Zenyatta president-CEO. “He will add considerable strength to our board as we transition through metallurgical testing and a PEA to prepare for upcoming feasibility studies.”
