Dominion Resources buying Utah solar project

RICHMOND Dominion Resources is buying a 50-megawatt solar energy project in Utah.

The Richmond -based energy company says the project acquired from Juwi Solar is expected to go into service in the second half of 2015.

Dominion says the project also has secured a 20-year power purchase agreement and an interconnection agreement.

The project's addition brings Dominion's solar generating capacity in development, under construction or in operation to 324 megawatts with facilities in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Utah and Tennessee.

The company says its renewable portfolio also includes about 850 megawatts of capacity generated by biomass, water and wind in Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

Dominion Resources Inc. is one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy.
