The school in Jeevan Bhima Nagar, where a six-year-old girl was sexually abused, was closed on Friday.

City police commissioner M.N. Reddi claimed that the teacher arrested for sexual abuse of a six-year-old girl had confessed to the crime. He was speaking after visiting the school in Indiranagar on Friday.

He said the medical examination conducted on the child also had confirmed that the child was sexually abused. The doctors had reported bruises and swelling in the girl’s private parts.

Mr. Reddi said that prima facie there was no culpability or any attempt made by the school management to suppress the incident. However, he said that they would book the school management for non-compliance of school safety guidelines under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). He said there was an earlier case pending against the management for the same and that they couldn’t file a charge sheet in the case as it was pending before the High Court.
