Lise Newman was elected to the board of directors of SmithGroupJJR, a national architecture, engineering and planning firm. Newman leads the Workplace Studio at SmithGroupJJR’s Detroit office. She has a 30-year career in programming, planning and design of workplace facilities. Her clients in Southeast Michigan include Ford Motor Company, Google, Microsoft, Plante Moran, Lake Trust Credit Union and Olympia Development Company. Newman was previously owner and principal-in-charge of design at Landry + Newman Architecture in Birmingham, where she led headquarters projects for clients such as Mercedes-Benz Financial and Taubman Centers. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
