The Kansas City Royals are making their first World Series appearance in nearly three decades this fall, and thanks to Joe Torre and Major League Baseball, at least one young fan and his family won't miss the chance to see the team in person.
Six-year-old Noah Wilson has Ewing sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, and is also a massive fan of the Royals. Wilson's family had been raising money in hopes of buying tickets so the young boy could watch his favorite team play for its first championship in 29 years, with the proceeds nearing $10,000.
When Torre and MLB heard, they stepped in and personally invited the family:

The generosity means the Wilsons will be able to keep the money they've received via a GoFundMe campaign for medical bills and other uses, making the story that much sweeter:

The family will reportedly be attending Game 2. Wilson's father, Scott, offered his gratitude on Friday, before even being aware of MLB's offer. Via Yahoo! Sports:
"We're overwhelmed with appreciation," Scott Wilson said from the hospital on Friday before he was even aware of StubHub or MLB's offers. "I keep telling people I don't have enough words to say thank you."
