Keurig is expanding from coffee to soda in deal with Dr Pepper

Posted online
Dr Pepper from a Keurig might soon be a reality.

Keurig Green Mountain Inc. (Nasdaq: GMCR) struck a deal with Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. (NYSE: DPS) to make single-serve capsules for use in Keurig's upcoming cold beverage system.

The Associated Press reports the companies did not disclose terms of the agreement Wednesday or specify which particular brands will be included. The soda maker, based in Plano, Texas, sells Sunkist, Snapple, Dr Pepper, Hawaiian Punch and other brands.

Keurig Cold is slated to launch this fall and, similar to its hot sibling, will brew cold drinks in minutes, such as soda, teas and sports drinks.
