Police want to talk to Simon Peter Knights about a string of burglaries across four counties

A 38-year-old man is being hunted by police investigating 12 burglaries and an attempted break-in across four counties in southern England.

Sussex Police want to speak to Simon Peter Knights about raids in Oving, Elm Grove, Barnham, Eastergate, Burgess Hill and Southwick in June.

There was also an attempted burglary in Barnham the same month.

He has since been linked to three burglaries in Hampshire, one in Kent and one in Essex.

Cash, jewellery and electrical items have been stolen during the break-ins.

Det Con Pippa Hannard said: "We believe [Mr Knights] uses the rail network to get around so people might see him on trains along the south coast," she said.

"He has links to Essex so could have returned there."

Mr Knights is about 5ft 8ins with ginger hair and blue eyes.

A £2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction in the case.
